Sixty Up Sykes And Six-For Livesey See Seconds Home

Batting first Barrow Seconds had a¬†fifty opening partnership between Frank Forge (25) and Guy Fisher (31), but it was the big hitting of Jonny Sykes on the massive Carson’s ground which took Barrow to a competitive total of 185-6. Jonny making 62 not out.

In reply Carson’s struggled against the accurate bowling of Mark Fisher and Paul Gard, before Oscar Livesey (6-17) and Ellie Holdaway (3-23) destroyed the opposition’s batting line-up, James Halladay chipping in with a wicket in his only over. Skipper Ellie, took two good catches off Oscar, as Carsons desperately tried to accelerate. Carsons¬†eventually were bowled out for 78, which consolidated Barrow’s third place in the league and closed the gap on the promotion places.
